The Symphony Orchestra and the Choir at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées

Program

The finess African operatic voices in a program that embodies generosity. Excerpts from Africa Lyric’s Opera’s new opera, sacred songs, spirituals, and famous arias from French, Italian, German and African operas.

Africa Lyric’s Opera returns to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées for yet another exceptional charity evening, organised jointly to raise funds for young opera singers from diverse backgrounds, the construction of a music conservatoire in Cameroon, and the training of women in Africa in the high-tech sector – one of Women Of Africa’s flagship programmes. Opera singers from Africa, the United States and France will come together this evening for a captivating and socially conscious programme blending great opera classics, traditional and sacred songs, and a preview of excerpts from Africa Lyric’s Opera’s new historical opera. An evening of song, sharing and solidarity.

Co-production: Africa Lyric’s Opera | Women of Africa Opera Gala in aid of Women of Africa’s charitable work, celebrating 25 years of initiatives promoting education, training, women’s empowerment, classical music and social innovation across twenty African countries.
