Choir director

After studying piano, French horn, accompaniment, composition and analysis at the Limoges Conservatory, Grégoire Michaud joined the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP), where he was awarded First Prizes in composition (classes of Cyrille Lehn, Jean-Baptiste Courtois and Thierry Escaich), analysis (class of Claude Ledoux), orchestration (class of Marc-André Dalbavie) and ethnomusicology (class of Bruno Messina).

He also studied keyboard harmony with Isabelle Duha, film scoring with Marie-Jeanne Serero, and jazz with Glenn Ferris.

Alongside these studies, he trained in choral conducting with Ariel Alonso, Reta Kazarian and Coline Serreau, as well as in orchestral conducting with Adrian McDonnell and Pierre-Michel Durand. In 2020, he obtained his DEM in orchestral conducting from the Paris Regional Conservatory (CRR de Paris).

Grégoire Michaud has conducted the Aria Choir of Paris, the Van Cleef & Arpels Choir and the Audiens Mutual Insurance Choir. He currently conducts the Philharmonic Choir of the French Grandes Écoles Choirs and Orchestras (COGE). In the orchestral field, he has served as Music Director of the Sirène de Paris Orchestra and as Deputy Conductor of the Music of the French Marine Troops, the main orchestra of the French Army.

Also a composer and arranger, Grégoire Michaud has worked with numerous artists, ensembles and organizations, including Marina Kaye, Emily Loizeau, Trois Cafés Gourmands, Les Frangines, the Debussy Quartet, the Variétés Lyriques, the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, the Music of the Paris Police Force, the OLC, the Démos project and France 2. For the theatre, he has composed the music for several plays written and directed by Coline Serreau, notably Three Men and a Cradle in Paris and Lapin Lapin in Berlin.

In 2026, he was appointed Music Director of the French Army Choir.
